Surah Al-Hashr, the 59th chapter of the Quran, is a Medinan surah with 24 verses. It is named "Al-Hashr" (The Exile or The Gathering).
The Surah describes the expulsion of the Jewish tribe of Banu Nadir from their settlements in Medina after they broke a peace treaty and conspired against the Muslim community. It highlights Allah's power in fulfilling his promises and punishing those who oppose him, even in the face of apparent strength and fortifications.It outlines the guidelines for the distribution of spoils acquired without fighting, encourages giving charity in the cause of Allah, warns the hypocrites, reminds about the Judgment Day. The surah concludes by emphasizing Allah's oneness, power, mercy, and wisdom, mentioning several of His beautiful names and attributes.
